Microsoft to add $5.50 Xbox One controllers to new $199.99 bundles
Microsoft will soon add $4.99 Xbox One controller packs to new Xbox One bundles, the company announced today.
The Xbox One bundle will start at $199 and the $199 console will be available in December.
Microsoft will add $2.50 for every Xbox One console it sells in the United States, but it will not sell these controllers at retail.
The controllers will be bundled with games that include the $399 Kinect sensor and other peripherals.
These bundles will start on November 10 in select cities, Microsoft said.
The Xbox One is Microsoft’s first console to include a new $399 peripheral called the Kinect, which works with Microsoft’s new $349 headset.
Microsoft plans to start selling the new Xbox Ones in December, with a full lineup to follow.
Microsoft’s announcement comes at a time when the company is focusing more on hardware and software for its next-generation gaming console, codenamed Project Scorpio.
The console is expected to launch in the second half of 2018.
